• Great North Run

    A glutton for punishment and never one to turn down the chance to dress up, Kat very bravely, and rather naively, entered this year’s Great North Run.

    Not content with running shorts and trainers, she channelled Ariel the mermaid and completed the 13.1 mile run looking a picture of aquatic beauty (by which we mean she was drenched with sweat and puffing like a fish!).

    The iconic half marathon is held each year, starting from Newcastle and finishing on the coast in South Shields.

    Despite the drizzly weather and expected soreness, the camaraderie of running with thousands of other people, and being cheered on by countless more, kept our Kat going.

    Spattered with jelly sweets to keep here energy up and chased by a rather amorous Paddington Bear, she finished in excellent time and vowed never to do such a thing again.
